The wisdom of the ancient Khoi San tribe of Southern Africa is almost lost. African Essence is dedicated to keeping their knowledge of the medicinal and aesthetic benefits of the native fynbos (flora) alive. Our products harness the properties of flowers found uniquely in the Cape Peninsula and carry their many aesthetic benefits. Anti-inflammation, cellular hydration, repair and buffering are a few of the benefits that promote our main objective; tempering the aging process at a cellular level.
The striking, prehistoric King Protea flower is rich in antioxidants and has been used by the Khoi San to promote skin softening and tightening, while keeping the skin hydrated. Protea petals also help to soothe and reduce inflammation and redness.
At the same time, ultra-pure, pharmaceutical grade methylene blue droplets target free-radicals and enhance cellular regeneration, reducing oxidative stress and promoting healthy skin.
Jojoba Oil – This moisturizing plant wax is rich in vitamins E and B, working along-side the flower essence to sooth the skin.
Castor Oil – Beyond its antiseptic properties, this organic, hexane free oil penetrates deeply, pulling the flower essence far below the epidermis into the dermal and subdermal layers of the skin. Not only does this oil improve lymphatic drainage at a subcutaneous level, it also promotes age tempering at a more substantial level.
Shake the contents well before use in order to disperse the flower essence and methylene blue evenly.
Apply a few drops to face, neck and decolletage. A little goes a long way!
*Methylene blue is a strong dye and will cling to dry patches of skin for about 24hrs. This includes the keratin found in nails, so you may want to use gloves when applying if temporary staining is a concern.
